Well located in the centre of the city fringe suburbs dividing the east with the west, it is perfectly located to be a quick 5 minute drive to the John Hunter Hospital.



It is a suburb on the western outskirts of Newcastle, New South Wales. Before becoming a residential suburb in the 1900s, the area was used for chicken farming, cattle farming, and coal mining. By the 1960s, the school and the other facilities of the suburb had been established.



Previously known as Wallsend South before being renamed Elermore Vale.



The suburb is served by Newcastle Transport bus routes 26 and 46 and Hunter Valley Buses routes 263 and 270.



Macquarie College is on Lake Road, Elermore Vale. One of Newcastle's leading private schools, it provides quality co-education, K-12, in a Christian environment.



Wallsend South public school is located on 16 Smith Road is a co-ed government primary school.



The local Elermore Vale Tavern & Shopping centre has been recently renovated and expanded by Iris Capital and is now a great meeting spot for this community.



With quality schools and exceptional parks it has a lot to offer the residents that are mainly younger families and older residents.



Elermore Vale has become a hot spot for small to medium developers in the last 5 years that have been buying up larger blocks or consolidating sites to build townhouses for the endless supply of first home buyers and pre-retirees that are looking for better value for money then in the suburbs fringing the city centre.
